Happy New Year

New Years Eve Party

The NYE drinkathon begins!

Don't forget to collect the cheese gesture from the front of the stage.. for each cheesy party tune you nominate, everyone has to have a chug of their drink.

And for the first time, the hit 'n' miss meter is in play!   We have over 300 party songs for tonight, and you can participate by jogging the choones on if you don't like them!  Click the thumbs up to keep the record going, click the thumbs down to skip to the next one!

Party starts very shortly at 12pm SLT and runs all night and into tomorrow!

New Years Eve Party

On Saturday, join us as we say goodbye to 2016 and hello to 2017 at the London City New Years Eve Knee's up.

Starting 12pm SL (8pm UK) DJ Bailey and Torric will be taking turns to bring you the very best party songs of all time,  including the Cheese 'n' Wine selection, with a spattering of cheesy party songs.

The rules of the game are simple, every time you hear a cheesy choone, you chug your drink and get another. The winner is the first person to be sick and wear their knickers on their head.  Please chug responsibly.

Tesco's trolley's will be provided at the end of the night to get you home safely!

On Sunday, join us for the traditional Beach Party if you dare!

Santy Sets Sail

Santy is a very busy man and needs to mine lots of coal for you naughty Londoners.
If you would like one more chance of impressing him with how good you have been, today would be a good time to sit on his lap at Santy's Grotty.

Santy leaves London City today at 12pm SLT, so make sure you visit him, before he treks back to the North Pole to fill his sack full of goodies.

Let there be light.. and there was

Winter in Blighty is dark.  Day times are so short that we miss out on evening and go straight from afternoon to night time.   Then in the spring, evening gets reintroduced just ahead of the night time.

Today is the Winter Solstice, the shortest day in the UK.  So if you are fed up with the dark nights, tomorrow is a day to celebrate. Thursday 22nd December will be lighter by 3 seconds!

What will you do with all this extra daylight?  Well start making plans, because day light will rapidly increase over the next month.   By the end of January it will be almost an hour lighter than now, with a sunset at 4.47pm.

Have a Holly Jolly Christmas!

Open throughout the Holidays, enjoy the party season with us in London City!

Bento goes Live

Back in June, we blogged about the new skeleton enhancement system for avatars in Second Life.
A full year in the making, Bento is now live throughout the grid.

The addition of 90 extra bones to the skeleton will mean a revolution in realism for the avatars. Also, 30 extra face bones which can be  tied into appearance sliders will make for super realistic expressions.

On Monday, Linden Lab Blogged that the Bento is now live, following the promotion of its Bento Candidate viewer to release status.

The London Christmas Tree

During World War II, Norway was invaded and occupied by Germany, forcing the Norwegian king and government to create a government-in-exile in London.

The British military also helped train and organize Norwegian commandos to attack Nazi installations in Norway.

As a token of appreciation from the Norwegian people to the people of Britain, a Norwegian Christmas Tree is sent every year from Oslo to Trafalgar Square in London.

Visit the London Christmas tree here and marvel at its magnificent balls http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/London%20City/83/186/23
